Let's not despise our youth.
"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. - 1 Timothy 4:12 (NIV)
YES, the biggest event is happening right now! It is time for the youths to EMERGE once again! :D We believe that youths are the future generation to EVOLVE and make a difference in this society and are not to be despised. Who says we can't be young to do great things unto the Lord? (: Emerge 2012 started with a Revival Night on Friday, 27 July 2012. It is a prelude of the exciting things that will happen during the Emerge Conference Weekend! That night, was a night for the youths of City Harvest Church.
Before the service, there were Games Fiesta and the finals of Com' Sense! I didn't manage to attend as I ended school quite late! Congratulations to Team 3 for being the champions of Com' Sense! And it is really unfortunate for me to sprain my ankle (again) during training that day. Thank God I'm still able to walk properly and make it for Revival Night! (:

Before the service started, the dancers came on stage to teach us the choreography for the chorus of Today Is The Day. Right click, left click, V-cross-V. Clap and clap and clap and clap. Swim, right flick, left flick, roll up and keep (I forgot the actual instructions), UP DOWN! And then bring your hands up! It was an excellent dance that got all of us so engaged!

It was indeed a groovy dance put up by the Dance Ministry! For that night, the praise and worship session were led by a group of youths, not adults! They got everyone so hyped up for Emerge. (:

For Your Best Shot, 3 of the 6 finalists performed that night. First up is the Amante Brothers!

Absolutely loved their Super Bass rap! :D

Next up is Terence Tan, the cool beat-boxer!

Lastly, it's the MJ Zone Girl Band!

From what I saw, all of them did make efforts to improve their performance. Before they start, there would always be a bunch of supporters screaming and shouting for them. I find it really heartwarming! :')

The Japanese hip-hop dance crew, DAT, made an unexpected appearance that night! I heard they're also one of the performers for the upcoming TBG! Cool and accurate dance moves, they've got SWAG! I have a video of part of their dance. Now you know what to expect for TBG. (:

Of all the iSociety projects, 3188 people were involved and they have impacted over 5400 unchurched people in the society! One of the projects shared was iState, which stands for I Stand Together, Act Together, Emerge. They organised a Charity Car Wash to spread the love! They also had another project called More Than Words, where they paid visits to different orphanages, held study camps and gave brand new story books to the students who were not very fortunate like us. They touched the lives of the little kids who had no hope for their future and blessed them with education and knowledge. What a mighty act of love from the youths!

A video of Koh Meng Kwang's life story was also shown to us. He's from AZ District! (: I've watched this video for countless times 'cause it was also shown in Camp UNItE. Nevertheless, what a great testimony! He shared about how Christ has changed his life, from a drug addict to a Christian serving in Photography Ministry now. I believe many of us youths can relate to his story and surely, God can change your lives if you believe in Him. (:

That night, the presence of God was so strong. All the youths were united as one, and praying as one. Pastor Kong was there to lead us, and he invited a few youths to come on stage to pray. It was truly a wonderful night.

Emerge is gotta be so exciting, I can't wait. ;)
